Yay for Friday: Paint n Sip

Paint n Sips are all the rage lately!  Have you been to one yet?
This was my second time doing a Paint n Sip among friends and it's really so much fun.

The concept is that a group of amateur painters follow an instructor through the steps of painting an art piece, while sipping on wine/beer.  It's social, and super fun to see how the person next to you paints the same picture as you are, yet it comes out totally different.

Everyone is set up with a blank canvas, three paint brushes of different sizes, and a paper plate with 5-7 acrylic paint colors.

Usually the first part consists of covering the canvas with blanket colors.
Below is light blue for the sky and a darker blue for the ocean.

This piece of art is a snapshot of a fishing boat house in Rockport, ME.  So the dimensions of the house are all done freehand and completely vary from person to person.

By the end of the class, everyone has a similar picture, complete with their own special details and features they have added.  For example, everyone had the option to add buoys to the house below, made up of their own color ideas, sizes and shapes.
I even decided to connect mine with a rope.

Here's the final product!  What a nice gift for someone like my Dad who enjoys the ocean, or fishing.  Or perhaps I will keep it and hang it up in my house!

Enjoy the weekend everyone!
